Adoption Rules!!!
Hey didn't know where to post this so I decided here would be the best place just wondering if anybody would know...
My sister Carmen is trying to adopt as she recently found out she can't have kids however she was told that the child she adopts has to be placed as the youngest child in the family. She was looking to adopt an older child of about 10 or 11 as she herself was adopted when she was 9 and they are the kids who usually are in care till there 18. Her OH has 3 kids from a previous reletionship (3,5,6) and these count as family in the house because they live with them for half the year. Which means she'll have to adopt a child younger than 3. Just wondering if anyone knows if this is a guideline or set in law???
You see my mom adopted Alexa, Carmen, Jackson and Noah(my 2 sisters and 2 brothers) after we were born and they are all older than Alejandro and I (we are her birth kids) so she said that she has never heard of it. just checking if anyone knew
i was hoping to be able to answer but i realy dont know anything about USA adoptions at all, sorry sweet. i wanted to answer though and not read and run etc. I know how hard the whole adoption thing is over here in the UK as we're looking into it with the boys, and theyre older than Izzie and Kabe and that hasnt been mentioned as a problem.
I think if that is the case. then its a little silly, i mean, thats cutting off the older kids, which is totally unfair.
