I'm working today. mostly at home, but had to go to a client's for a bit...tomorrow i have off but I have to work 4 hours (at home again) on New Year's Eve...
I was back at work yesterday as well - and it soooo wasnīt worth it. There were only 2 other people in the office and all I have to do is answer the phone, but it would appear that most normal people have taken holiday anyway, so the phone rang about 10 times in the 4 hours I was there. The daft thing is, there are three of us sat there waiting to answer the phone - its ridiculous!!!
The really stupid thing is, me and the other girl pregnant girl are only there cos we canīt fly anymore, so we donīt even have any other work we can be doing while the phone isnīt ringing!!! The person that normally does the job full time, gave up some folders to rename and sort out - she was saying it would take us ages to do - when she got back from her lunch break, weīd finished and she nearly freaked out, cos we work too fast!!!! Gotta make the time go by somehow though!!! She sent us home afer 4 hours of sitting around!!
At least I managed to wangle going in later today!!!
I dont know why employers bother ... its more cost efficient to close over christmas in certain trades
I have had to open today with 7 staff ... all on say average of Ģ100 wage a day, for one job that will earn us about Ģ200 .... im going to start sending people home at lunchtime
B&B is my only saviour whilst at work bored out of my brain
