I don't really know where to post this so I am just going to post it here. When I was on bcp I got really bad mouth ulcers. I couldn't figure out what they were being caused from. Most people get them from sweets or sour foods/candies. I got them ALL THE TIME and they were really painful! Once I stopped bcp...they magically went away! Thank goodness, they were driving me mad! Docs didn't know what was causing them, my dentist didn't know...no one knew. I thought maybe it was stress or my immune system! But I have narrowed it down to just the hormones from the pill.

I am concerned that if I do become preg that I will get them again, since being on the pill causes your body to think that it is preg essentially.

If anyone has had similar symptoms from the pill please let me know. I am so curious as to what truly causes these ulcers, and what in certain bcps can cause them. Guess it just could have been my bodies way of reacting to the hormones.

If you are referring to canker sores my husband gets those alot. We did research on them and found out citris foods tend to cause them so he stays away from that and doesnt get them as often now.

GOD I HATE MOUTH SORES they are paifull! God i couldnt imagin what you had to deal with!!

yeah canker sores, and yes they do suck! I rarely get them now, but when I had them they would be literally all over in my mouth, and really big (that is why I refer to them as mouth ulcers)...aww makes me hurt just thinking about it!

I too used to get a lot of mouth ulsers on the bcp. I'd usually get one or two when I was coming up to my AF. I also would get them if I became run down or ill. I never thought they were caused by the pill though so thats interesting. I thought it was just because my immune system was always lower near AF as thats when I'd often get ill if I was going to.

It's true though that I stopped getting them when I came off the pill. I've had one small one since being pregnant and that was at about the same time as I had a cold.

That is really weird. Perhaps it is a combination of your immune system and hormone levels that can cause them....
