orange balls of flames in the sky ? Meteors ?

Hi folks, I guess this may be aimed more at northwest uk people but late last night around 11-11.30pm ish , Myself & alot of pub dwellers were in the streets walking to pubs etc when i noticed several people looking into the sky , pointing & taking pictures. When we looked up we noticed 2 fair big orange balls which looked on fire. They were quite low & i'd say football size, 1 behind the other with from what i can remember no trail or anything either. They were moving right to left fair straight (not diagonal i mean) , there was no noise & no flashing light like a plane/helicopter, These were much bigger & quite low hence they looked the size of footballs. By time i got my phone out of my bag they had zoomed off , Did anyone see anything? Or have you seen it before?

I wrote in to our local " burnley express " paper to ask if anything had been reported but i was the 1st, so my article is going in the paper & they are hopefully going to get some people sending in their mobile phone pics lol

Ive googled what i saw & main thing i can find is meteors, but i cant find any local reports yet , or any reports of meteor showers etc. Is there an astronomy update site for things like this?

If i find some pics someone manage to get from last night ill show you all , It was unreal & had everyone looking in amazement, Fab to see something like that as it clearly wasnt a hot air balloon, plane or similar.

I seen something similar when i was about 7 or something! it had been thundering & lightening and a big whiteish, football sized ball thing zoomed through the sky above our street! I told my mam and she didnt believe me! Told me i must of been dreaming! Anyway my auntie had seen the same as me and aparently it was a lightening ball which is soo rare?! im not sure if this was true & never found out to this day if that is what i had seen! Hope this makes sense lol im tired :P xx
