I am Welsh, but on legal documents like my passport I'm classed as a British Citizen...

When I write my address I always do it as Wales, UK.

See, this is good because I always thought British was just for England because England was just another name for Britian....hah. We don't get this stuff explained very well to us over here. If I'm writing an exam talking about something that happened specifically in England, I always write Britian and I've never been corrected for anything.

Classing yourself as British will soon be a thing of the past IMO.

In the last 5 years, there has been strong moves towards separatism by both Scotland and Wales.

As a result, the English have rediscovered and are rediscovering their own identity. More and more English folk are defining themselves as English first and foremost as the Scots and Welsh have always done.

I personally see myself as English and not British at all.

yeah me too. I dont really know anyone who says they are British unless they have moved from another country and settled here for a while. Then they say they are British if that makes sense.

Yes exactly no one ever explained it to me, I always thought English & British were the same, and then Scottish, Welsh & Irish were different..

And I didn't realize part of Ireland was part of the UK, I thought it was separate entirely..

I'm really not dumb lol I'm just foreign!!
