What will Asda do?

Bought their own brand of the Steam Fresh Vegetables. Two nights ago, put them in the microwave as usual dished them up to Rebecca and left her sitting at the table whilst I got mine and Dlaes out. I walks through to the conservatory where she is sitting and find her gnawing on a wood like object (a bit like a stick-an inch long) this came from her bloomin veg!

Seriously it was so brittle if swallowed she could of choked, and I thank my lucky stars she didnt try and chew or swallow it.

I phoned them up for their address for Complaints and Head Office, and wrote a stern letter with the foreign object enclosed and sent it recorded delivery with all original packaging.

What will they do? A wee letter saying sorry?

Quite frankly its not acceptable when a 22month old could of choked!

Grrrrr. Serves me right economising from Birds Eye steam fresh!

Blimey you did no wrong buying them but shit to be blunt! One sincere apology is needed and although it doesn't take away how thankful you are she didn't choke some compensation of some sort to spend in store ... I'm guessing bar that although somehow never seems good enough its all they can do.

I'm glad shes ok and it wasn't more serious than just the thought of her chewing on that!

Usual policy is a refund and replacement of another similar product if not happy, though if done through email/letter then itll be a refund.
You will probably get more than the products worth, ive complained before about a meal bought from Asda and they gave me a £5 gift voucher (the meal was only 75p)

Birdseye will give you a £10-£20 voucher most likely.. I found a bit of plastic in a chicken o thing once loland thats what they did. Asda probably won't do much as it's not their fault.

Ah sorry! I did read your post, but when someone else said Birds Eye I thought I had read it wrong.

Anyway, if Asda don't do much, make sure you write another complaint letter including how your daughter could have choked, it's disgusting.

Hope you get a bit more than a £5 voucher anyways
