I've ran through the post as the mods flagged it and I really see no bullying I do however (based on a number of threads) see a bit of fuel being added for entertainment.

Will be keeping a close eye on certain things.

I voted YES in the paper yesterday a man got ten years for running down three people one was a pregnant woman.... go figure ?

all he did was load money bags into a van..... never got tried for murder or for his escape from wandsworth prison...... all the other train robbers got parole ?

I totally agree... I come from South Africa and you would DIE if you knew HALF of what goes on here... Rapists get 2 months, Murderers get off because of not enough evidence but he was driving the women who was RAPED and Brutally beaten by a pole and the coroner said she was still alive when he left her.. semen and foot prints as finger prints was not even enough to lock up this man....

Nope, to me you should have to serve your time.

He robbed, he escaped prison, he fled the country in hiding.

In jail here you receive healthcare.. don't know what it's like there, but I don't see how it could be any different.

Like Bexy said, you're locked up because of the crime you committed. While some people remain locked up to prevent them from reoffending, I think he should serve the rest of his sentence, old man or not.

Murders & rapists do get disgustingly short sentences here IMO, but I also don't think it's right to lighten the punishments for other crimes just because serious crimes like those get lighter sentences than we'd like to see. Instead we should focus on tougher punishments for those who rape and murder other people.

As i said earlier he should serve his time BUT I do think that the system is messed up and some of the sentences are way to lenient!

The thing is is that he isn't even in prison right now! He is in an NHS hospital basically waiting to die and even if he was released he wouldn't be leaving that hospital anytime soon.

He didn't go into hiding he never lied about where he was he was just very clever about what country he chose to move away to. He couldn't be sent back to Britain as his son was born there so legally our police and goverment could do absolutely nothing. He came back by choice because enough was enough he knew exactly what he was coming back to. If he was that much of a criminal he wouldn't of come back at all.

I personally don't think he should be locked up still well actually i don't think he should of been locked up at all. They are being so harsh on him because people know his name and know the story. If he was a nobody and it wasn't on the news then he would of been released ages ago.
