garden/plant slugs

Does anyone have any experience with bugs and things the eat plants in your garden? I thought earwigs were eating my plants, but I was outside tonight and I saw this tiny slug thing on some of my plants...

I'd love to know how to get rid of them!

Put salt on them. We used to do it all the time when we were kids. It shrivels them up, which is cruel but...works.

My Nan gets something like a hair spray cap, puts it in the ground so the top of it is level and fills it with a bit of beer. The slugs can't resist it and like it more than the plants.

She also saves the egg shells and crushes them around plants .. too sharp for slugs and snails.

I did the beer thing and it worked... I will put some new cups of beer out in a day or 2... I really want my plants to look nice!
