Any ideas?

Ok.. bit of a long-shot but thought I'd ask..

We're going on holiday tomorrow, but we're leaving (and returning) to Gatwick airport. Unfortunately our car got stolen (along with pretty much everything electrical downstairs).

We were hoping to have my car brought up from Derby so we could go in that, but it has a few niggly things in the MOT that would need sorting before we can drive it.

2nd plan was for OH to borrow his mum's car and get insured for the week, but the insurance people are being a bit funny about it, and we're not sure that they'll do it.

My Dad suggested pay-as-you-drive insurance, but they'll only insure drivers 24+, and OH isn't 24 until August.

Only option I can see is the train, but we return home early hours and there won't be trains until about 6am.

Any other ideas? Thanks.

Could you afford to stay over somewhere near the night you return and then go home in the morning? x

Not sure how much it would cost but could you hire a car?

I think we COULD at a push, cut it really would be pushing the budget. We're both frantically trying to sort it all out lol.

Unfortunately, they want a fair bit of notice - I think about a weeks' notice.
