I'm Currently Feeling: | Wanted out of our home.....*updated* Yesterday I recieved a voicemail saying "this is your landlord, please contact me on blah blah blah and let us know if it is OK to do the check tomorrow or not, Thank You"! Anyway, I couldn't phone them as I had lost my voice, so I sent Paul a text and ask him to phone them and ask them what is going on as we have had no letter about an inspection?!?! We have never had an inspection in the 2 yrs we have been here! Paul tells me last night that the (new) bloke he spoke to at the letting agents said we (us) recieved a letter back in September saying that we had to get out of the property! Paul told them we had recieved no such thing and why was we having to get out anyway? He then told us we was 2 months in arrears with our rent! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR Well that was it, Paul hit the roof..... All this year we have been arguing with them and sent proof of a payment they said we was behind last year, so we contacted the owners of the property and told them we were up to date and what was the agents playing at and we was told to ignore it and not to worry.........and NOW they are saying we are 2 payments behind this year!!!!!!!! So this bloke said "you are 2 payments behind, let me get this up on the computer"....and as he pulled it up and started looking thru, he obviously saw a problem with what he was telling Paul as he was making concerned noises and then replied "I am sorry Mr Ireland, I am new here and will have to get this checked out and get back to you tomorrow". Meanwhile he was told that we would have a man come round today to check us out of the property, but if you are still living there then there is nothing he can do....... Well why are they screwing up yet again?!?!? And why on earth could they not have cancelled this bloke today? He has been round twice so far, and I am refusing to answer the door as I have no idea what is going to be said! But I am so bloody angry!!!!!! How can they get it so wrong? So now on Friday I think the only way we can put this to rest is to get copies of statements showing our rent going out to them from when we first moved in and send it recorded delivery.........and hope that is enough to get someone to say....'Yes, sorry, our mistake'. Anyone got any ideas what else we can do, as we have already been here once with them and are going thru it all again......how can we prove it, if they don't accept proof?! The only other thing we can do is go to court if they insist on us getting out and we refuse....maybe just the threat of that will be enough to get these cowboys off our backs? They are a complete sham this agency! Paul is the Tenant as well as me, yet they do not have him down as a tenant even tho he pays the rent and he signed papers along with me and my Mum - all of our signatues was on one piece of paper for each page we had to sign, yet they have me down with no income but the sole tenant yet they do not accept DSS? and until recently still had my Mum on the paperwork.......we have told them on numerous occassions that my Mum is no longer here and that is upsets me recieving mail addressed to my Mum but month after month came the mail addressed to Mum Why The Association is still with them, is beyond me.....worst bit is, I think if we were housing association we wouldn't have to deal with them, but we rent privately so have no choice! Any advice greatly recieved?! x | |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Thanks hun, it is just driving me mad, I mean I know legally there is nothing they can do as we have proof of payments that we can show to any court, but it is just having to go thru this every year, I have never heard anything so rediculous! When they get the proof this time round, once again it will go quiet for a few months, then we will be hearing about it again I am not worried about it, I even forgot about it til the door went at little while ago for the second time - we have every leg to stand on, but I am sooo bloody annoyed about it...... | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | hi hun, You poor thing, first of all if they did send you that letter, it should of been recorded delivery, so then they have proof that they sent it, so they have your signature, so they are lying, anything inportant, they would want proof... If you cannot find all of your bank statments for the rent, ask the bank, the ones you cannot find, they should have them, there might be a small charge, it does not matter if it comes out of your OH bank as long as it matches what the rent is, and they are going to see its the same amount every month.... It sounds like they want to either sell the place or rent it out to family or more rent...... i hope you sort it out hun, best of luck x x x | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | Tam im afraid im no wise owl at this but wanted to give you a hug
We are in private rented too but have never experienced anything like this. It really sounds like the agency is a shambles to say the least. I know we have inspections every 6 months and im pretty sure they have to give you written notcie about any inspection taking place on the property so you do right not to let them in. On the other hand...
...Id give citizens advice help line a ring even if its just get abit of extra back bone of where you can go from here hun, I always feel a prat phoning but they are very helpful and you dont need to make an appointment at thier offices. They can give you advise over the phone x | | | | Status: Online

I'm Currently Feeling: | I think it will be worth ringing the CAB.... We have always rented and have never come across anything like this in the 3 other places we lived in 9 yrs! The actual owners of the property seem really nice, not brilliant when you need things done as they don't let you know when they are coming and just turn up and do the work, which is fine if it is outdoors but my neighbour needed inside work done and it took 2 months to arrange it! But atleast they are human in there and seem to know their job.....I think I will get Paul to ring them infact and completely by-pass the agency! It worked last time, but how to stop it keep happening, thats the thing? Maybe we will just have to become accustomed to it, make it a way of life. | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | Could you not ask the owners of the property if you could by-pass the agency all together and deal with them directly and set up standing orders etc. I dont really know how it works but good luck x | | | | Status: Online

I'm Currently Feeling: | The thing is they are an Housing Association so they do not take money personally, but I have I have no idea how people who are on the Housing Association pay having said that, but Paul sis ask last year.....they deal more with buying and renovating properties and keeping the ones that they have maintained! Otherwise, I think that could be the way to go... I think I will suggest that Paul maybe asks for a reciept every month for our rent? They can't argue with their own paperwork surely? And if we don't get one, chase them for a change.....oh that's another thing, you can very rarely get hold of them it is always voicemail! Oh Thanks hun, you are making me think of other ways around this.....it is good bashing ideas around at times! | | | | Status: Offline
