Dryer getting fixed Thursday!

Ok, not nearly as exciting as the babies born and about to be born, but as I don't have excitement to look for to yet...yeah! My dryer's getting fixed on Thursday! And it's just a belt that broke rather than the motor......I can do again this weekend! Not that I'm really that happy ever about doing , but at least I will have more clean clothes again...

We just go this "new" dryer almost 2 years ago and to have the belt break was frustrating! Not as frustrating as having it break 3 times in a year though...and yes, I can't wait! I have to rewash the load that didn't dry properly so that it doesn't smell funny...we laid it out on our couches but I noticed a couple of the thicker pieces smelled...odd. Not really moldy but moist, if that makes any sense!

So I have that load to redo, and then the rest of it that's piled up...at least it's just DH and I and we have enough clothes to make it through until Saturday when I do laundry again...what would I do without repairmen that come the day you call! Granted, they didn't have replacement belt til today (one day later!) and we can't be home until Thursday...but I was still amazed!

Just out of interest, what make have you got as we have a hotpoint and it took us 3 days to get someone just to look at it? AND It took a total of 8-9 weeks to get the problem diagnosed properly

One guy that came told us we needed a new 'part' so we had to wait 3 weeks for it as it was out of stock, then when he did fix it into the machine, it failed that same day! When the final bloke came out, he knew what it was straight away when we gave him the error code and the best bit.....he never even needed a part to fix it, he did it there and then and it has never failed since! Cowboys, the lot of 'em, barr the one that actually knew his job!

We have a GE and I just called an appliance repair shop (it's off warranty) and they were able to come that day. Unfortunately, they didn't have the proper belt for our make, so they picked it up and called us the next day. We weren't available Tuesday or Wednesday, so it's really our fault that it's taking until Thursday...

Was your dyer on warranty or did you have to pay for the repairs? I find sometimes warranty work just almost isn't worth it...they don't always so as good a job as if you have to pay!

I think ours was pretty easy to diagnose...a broken belt is pretty obvious......so as long as they change it and it works today I am happy! Granted, no time for laundry until Saturday, but still, after grocery shopping I can go nuts!

Sorry to hear your experience wasn't great. I am thinking I am going to call this company for any other problems we may have with washer/dryer...they seem to be very good, very quick, very nice.

That's what I said! First time we used them too!

And yes, it's working again! Did one load of last night so DH has something to wear to my company Christmas party...not that I have anything to wear...no, really, I don't! But whatever...I'll find something to do with the top I want to wear...unless I don't like myself in it tonight then I am . Tee hee hee. Sorry, couldn't type what I really wanted to say... Oh well. Tomorrow it's lots of laundry:..what fun.
