just following orders then you didn't mention pans, if we just went off and did things of our own back without permission or direct orders you'd all lose your power mad control trips, there'd be nowt to complain about and then where would we all be?! lol

Chris my OH has started his new later shifts now he is a seconded team leader and we had a lay in this morning so I offred to make brunch consisting of bacon, scrambled eggs, hash browns and beans. Ever so healthy I know (none of it was fried though, That makes me feel a little better Haha)

Any way to cut to the chase my best friend called me and I dont see her very often as she is studying at uni in Lincoln and I had said i'd give OH a lift to work so I asked if he would be so kind to do the dishes

He came back in the lounge no more than 5 mins later and looked so proud of himself that it only took a few mins. Alarm bells should have rang then but they didnt, I didnt think any more of it.

When I got back home from dropping him off I went into the kitchen to make a cuppa and he had literraly washed the two plates. The pans were still on the hob where I left them. The knives and forks were still in the sink with the dirty water and the bacon tray was still under the grill dirty.

How lazy is that.
Dont get me started.

This thread made me laugh. When DH and I first got married we had a huge argument over who does this dishes (I wasn't working at the time so I was doing the majority of the cooking and all of the dishes). Now he does the majority of the dishes and since I got pregnant the cooking too!! But I must say he is helpless when it comes to washing the laundry.

P-l-e-a-s-e stir the food, but stir it properly so the food isn't sticking to the pan.

Don't leave your bloody dirty washing all over the floor when i've just spent ages cleaning up..

well i have a different view on domesticated men, my OH is a darling, when i was around 5 weeks pregnant i had a few problems and was told to be on bed rest until 13 weeks (god i hated that so much) and he was the best thing in the world to have without him id have been in a pickle, for 8 weeks he cooked for me, him and our son, cleaned the whole house everyday, washed and dryed all the clothes, walked the dog and everything else that needed doing. once i was back on my feet he went back to work and i started my daily routines again but a few months later i was diagnosed with SPD which makes even the simplist things like sweeping so painfull and difficult, now OH goes to work at 8am comes home at about 7pm and sweeps cleans and cooks too some days, to be honest i feel so sorry for him he does so much and i feel like a cripple and have to watch him do it some days i feel ok and get on with stuff but just have to rest regularly but other days i cant get out of bed without crying, he's my night in shining armor and i wouldnt change him for the world, so ladies there are men out there u just need to be lucky enough to find one as i think they are few and far between...lol
