Last time I had it done a redish purpley colour, but cause red molecules are big it's not lasted that long...I mean the colour is still there but it's lost it's wow factor if you know what I mean? It looks dull and almost patchy...

would purple stay in longer?

Ive switched from red to purple and have found it does last longer, it still fades but not as fast.
Added bonus when it does start fading it turns into a deep red.
