I had the most wonderful, relaxing and fun time in New York on my days off.
I was staying at a hotel that shall remain nameless. Suffice to say it was very cool
looking but had THE WORST customer service ever. But let me get back to that..
On the positive vibe, on my days off I..
*stayed up late every night and slept in late every day
*saw two movies
*got a facial
*spent gorgeous quality time and thanksgiving with Myrna (love you!)
*walked a lot
*didn't buy a thing
*drank lots of coffee
*adored how cold it was

Now on to THAT hotel.. let me give you an example of the service.

I ring room service at 11.30 am on morning.
Me: Hello, I realize it's probably too late to order breakfast food but..
THEM: ..Breakfast finished at 11 am
Me: I realize that. As I was saying, I was wondering if you had just some yoghurt
and fruit somewhere that I could have brought up?
THEM: Oh yes. We have yoghurt and we have a plate of mixed berries we can serve
Me: Brilliant! That's perfect actually because what I wanted was just a bowl of
yoghurt and..
THEM: WE CAN'T PUT THE YOGHURT IN A BOWL SIR.
Me: Sorry?
THEM: The yoghurt. It's in a container. Danone. It comes in a container not a bowl.
Me: Right. Um. Well anyway what I wanted was the yoghurt and just some straw
berries and a banana sliced..
THEM: We have bananas. But we can't slice the banana
Me : Sorry?
THEM: It's against food heath and safety regulations. We can't actually slice the
banana for you.
Me: Let me get this straight. You are room service correct?
THEM: Yes sir.
Me: Because yesterday someone brought me up a bowl of yoghurt with sliced
strawberries and bananas on the side
THEM: (SIGHING) Sir. I can see from your account that you are a regular guest.
Me: Yeah I stay here all the time
THEM: So I guess the person yesterday was just being nice. But we actually aren't
supposed to slice the banana.
Me: So can't you just be nice?
THEM: We can bring up yoghurt but we can't put it in a bowl. We can bring you a
banana but you'll have to slice it yourself.
Me: So you have yoghurt. You have bananas. You have bowls. You are room
service. But you can't serve those ingredients to me in a bowl.
THEM: Correct
Me: You do have bowls right?
THEM: Yes we do sir
Me: So can't you just put the yoghurt in a bowl?
THEM: That's just not the way we prepare the food I'm sorry.
Me: I guess I'll just go to the store then
THEM: If that's what you'd prefer sir.

I hung up.

I went to Starbucks. They had a yoghurt parfait that contained sliced bananas AND sliced strawberries. Who knew?


Just goes to show how fucked up this planet is getting.

The best one is workplaces cant put elastoplasts in first aid boxes due to the fact some one might be allergic. Well here's a fantastic fucking idea PUT HYPOALERGENIC ONES IN.
