ultrasound

Im in a confusing situation and didnt know who to ask so here i am

-awhile back i and a girl had unprotected sex one time(stupid i know)
-within 3 weeks she went back to her fiance and also had unprotected sex
- i get a phone call stating that "hey this might be your child but im not sure".
-she goes to her first doctors appoint and didnt explain the situation to her doctor because her fiance was with her.
-only info she gave the doc was when she had unprotected sex with her fiance..not my date
-another month goes by and she goes to the doc to make an ultrasound appoint, but at her check up the doc tells her.."either your farther along then we think..or your having twins"
-she went to the appointment and asks the lady how far shes along
-the date the lady says lands on the date she said she had sex with her fiance..

Now heres the question

Would that lady just be going off of whats on the records of the girl she is viewing ,or is she really analyzing what shes looking at in the ultrasound to get an accurate date??

As far as ive heard..a person giving an ultrasound shouldnt be giving up information and the results should be left for the doctor to explain

I personaly think that 3 weeks is a big differnce when it comes to pregnancys....(but I have not been preg. yet) I also think that the Drs can be spot on with dates because they can tell by size and again...3 weeks is alot when it comes to growth....So it is sounding like it is the other guys kid....Hope that helps, someone correct me if Im wrong

Best of Luck and Welcome To BnB!

thx for the replie

3 weeks is pretty large,i agree and by the size of her already its scarin the hell outta me

what im asking though i guess is..you think the person giving the ultrasound would just come out and say she was farther along if she really was or you think the doctor would have to be the one when she goes back for the results?

If a scan is out by more than 5 days to the dates written down, they will go by the scan dates, as they are much more accurate as it is the baby they are measuring and the average size will give an indication of how far along a pregnancy is.x

They moved my due date by 2 days based on the ultrasound. If the US operator was asked, there's no reason why they wouldn't say - they tell you if you're having twins etc, so why not your dates.
