Housewarming gift??

Ok here's my dilemma, DH and I are attending a housewarming party this weekend and I don't know what to take. I don't know the people well, have actually only met the son (he's older than me but living with his parents--quite common in Chinese culture). They moved to a new house and I would imagine they have every appliance/gadget that they could ever want we're thinking of buying a cake from the store and taking that or perhaps flowers. I don't want to spend a lot of money, we just don't have it to spend. Any suggestions??

you are always safe with a nice house plant. Or maybe a bottle of wine!
