who here gives blood? is it scary? im not too fussed over needles, and would like to do it, but truthfully what is it like?

I used to 4 times a year without failure.

But with having tattoos, body piercing, then getting pg and having Charlie, I haven't for about 5 years. I really should go again, but just keep thinking that I'l get pg this month.....

It doesn't hurt that much hun. Obviously it hurts a little when the needle goes in, and also when they take it out, but while it's there and you're donating, it's not painful at all.

A tip though - they'll offer you a local aneasthetic as it's your first time - don't bother with it. That small needle hurts more than the big one!!!! Just grin and bear it!

Oh, and in answer to your question - you don't see the blood. It goes into the bag under the bed.

i have never done it if im honest, im sure there has to be a gap between having tattoos and giving blood, and i have never left a long enough gao between having my tats done

Ive never done it would love too but i nearly pass out when i have blood tests plus they can never get my blood anyway!
