So I looked at my Paypal account because I did not buy any thing....No charges had been made so I sent this email to PayPal and they sent me this email tonight.....

Dear Susan XXXXX,

Thanks for taking an active role by reporting suspicious-looking
emails.
The email you forwarded to us is a phishing email, and our security
team
is working to disable it.

-------------------------
What is a phishing email?
-------------------------
Phishing emails attempt to steal your identity and will often ask you
to
reveal your password or other personal or financial information. PayPal

will never ask for your password over the phone or in an email and will

always address you by your first and last name.

Take our Fight Phishing Challenge at
https://www.paypal.com/fightphishing to learn 5 things you should know
about phishing. You'll also see what we're doing to help fight fraud
every day.

-------------------------
You've made a difference.
-------------------------
Every email counts. By forwarding a suspicious-looking email to
spoof@paypal.com, you've helped keep yourself and others safe from
identity theft.

Thanks,

The PayPal Team

They send those for ebay as well, saying we demand you pay or send this item asap or your account will be blocked.

I had one last week very similar, but from Nat West. It looked genuine and was telling me that they were putting in extra security measures to counteract fraud. To read about these measures I was to log in and click on the Help pages. Like I said, it looked and read very genuine, but what rang a bell with me was that I don't have a Nat West account!

I get them all the time. I've just stopped reading anything from PayPal and eBay b/c I know if I did something with eBay or PayPal, when I log in, it would get my attention.

I usually dont read anything from them either, but The subject was payment accepted. I freaked out because I just set up paypal for a work project and was testing it using my paypal account just not posting the payment. So I thought Oh Shit...I bought something by mistake that is why I read it...

Oh ok. B/c I've gotten those "Payment accepted" once before. I always ignore them. I've gone onto my paypal to make sure nothing's been deducted, if nothing has been, I'm good. I haven't had anything deducted yet. :knock on wood:
