Some B'Stard sank our boat...

We love boating, i have been on boats since before i was born, for our wedding we were told we could have a big wedding or parents would fund buying a small boat for us to have as our first.
We took the boat option and started with a 23ft Norman called 'Halo Too' we spent the next 3 years doing her up and general maint, we then decided to get a bigger boat as we were thinking of starting trying for kids.
So we got a 27ft Bounty which we named 'Soul Muzik' after a terry pratchett book and also that we both love musik, we have spent 2 years making her really nice, hubby and my dad spend all winter repainting the hull. and doing bits n pieces, any way our dream boat came upfor sale unexpectedly and we managed to fund buying 'Fairhaven' a 30 ft seamaster. Bit of a push especially as Soul Muzik was not up for sale so we put her up for sale last year, not having much interest and this year what with all the flooding not many people were looking to buy boats. we reduced the price and last sunday some one was going to come and look at the boat as the were really interested.
So my hubby goes to our moorings midweek to doa service on another boat plus clean soul muzik and change the glow plugs, on arrival finds 3 hooded youths sat on the front of both boats fishing, so hubby ask what they think they are doing and that they will have to move off as he in going to do some work, he gets general abuse, 'oh yeah make us move' 'whats it to you' hubby says ok well you are going to get wet as i am pressurewashing the boats soon, the kids think he is threatening to throw them in so gets abuse again, hubby say again no he is cleaning and carries on up to the other boat.
when he returns the lad s have gone so he does his jobs and leaves at about 5pm. 9.15 the next morning we get a phone call saying Soul muzik has sunk and that it is taking our other boat with her (they were moored side by side)
so she was sunk, hubby had to cut the ropes as she was in danger of sinking that boat too.

Well today we had the boat raised, we thought may be she might have been hit by another boat, but no. The water inlet hose that cools the gear box and engine had been pulled off. so water was free to come in.

Why can't people have respect for other people property? of even them selves. i'll post some pics later of the salvage operation today.
It was heart breaking to see something we had worked so hard on.

This explains my rants in other posts!

That is terrible. I know that it would be so upsetting to see your hard work being pulled up out of the water. I hope it was insured mate.

Some people have no respect.

She would need to be completely rebuilt internally (wood and water don't mix )and probably a new engine.
if any one is on face book you should be able to see the pics on there.
just look for selena carnell.
She is insured, thank god.. but not the point.
We are holding out for her full value as he was in good condition.
so fingers crossed.
Am just so angry and upset, could bawl my eyes out, but think that they will have won if i do that.
It was also Ewans first boat... he was on there at less than 6 weeks old!
