What would you do?

My £500 grant is finally coming through on thursday, which is when im getting my icandy cherry pram. Theres a great deal on an online shop on ebay that sells the pram and carrycot brand new for £200. I noticed it a few weeks ago and emailed the seller to see how many they had because i was interested but wasn't sure when i was getting the money, she told me to ring her when themoney was coming through to see if she still had any..

So when i got my letter saying the money will be in my bank on thursday, i rung her straight away askingif she still had one. She said shes got one left, and gave me her bank details and said if i pay the £200 straight into her bank account on thursday morning and email her my details she will send it the same day. Great i thought.

Then i told my mum and she said she wouldn't do that, because if i put it straight into her account, she could 'rip me off' or just not send me the pushchair and there would be nothing i could do about it.

So now im in two minds as to whether to transfer the money into her account or not? She sounds nice enough but of course i don't know her, but i don't like to think bad things of people.

Would you just go ahead and put it into her account ?

In a word No dont deposit any money into her account. £200 is a lot of money to lose.

Pay by Paypal and if she rips you off you can claim it back.

If you pay by cash, you are not covered at all.

Whats the name of the e-bay shop??

V xxxx

If you pay by paypal the money will be in her paypal account on the same day so she'll be able to see that you've paid - theres no need for you to pay it straight into her bank account - ebay advise you not to do this!

I'd pay it into her paypal account at least then you are covered!

No, always go through paypal as she CAN rip you off if you do a direct transfer. If you go through ebay and paypal then you are protected as a buyer. Get het to list it on ebay with a buy it now price of £200.

Same as above and if she is a good seller, she wouldn't expect you to do that anyway. Get her to list it on a Buy It Now for you and go through Paypal hun. Hope you get it though
