boiled water question

is it safe to boil the kettle before we go to bed at 11 for Sophies night time feed at 2ish or will we need to boil the water nearer the 2am feed? SHe doesnt like waiting for her feed and it takes 20-30mins for the water to cool down once boiled.

I wouldnt leave the water that long in the kettle...if you really wanted to stick to this time frame id put the boiled water into a sterilized bottle put the teat & cap on so its sealed until 2am. I wouldnt leave it in the kettle though....

I boil fresh water in the kettle at 2am (just enough for her 5oz bottle in the bottom of the kettle takes 2 mins to boil, iv timed it!) and then quick cool in a bowl of freezing cold water. Takes roughly 10 mins altogether for a perfect temp bottle! None of this 20-30 min waiting!!

we boil our water put it into the bottles and then put them in the fridge... we either put one on the side for the next feed or get it straight out the fridge. Dont know why we leave it on the side because we we heat them up in a bottle warmer lol.

But i was told as long as you dont put the powder in them you should be fine x

An idea boil the kettle and transfer the water to a flask ( keeps water at temp for about 6 hrs ) make bottle up when required get a jug and put bottle in (with lid etc) and leave under running cold tap for about 10mins shaking regulary worked for me!. According to 'guidelines' the water needs to be over 75 degrees to ensure anything in milk powder is killed, so making up with cool boiled water doesnt, hth's xxxxxx

10 mins is way to long to be waiting never mind 20-30mins... half hour before you go bed boil the water fill the bottle with it & stick in cold water jugs to cool then whack in fridge til needed, I warm in microwave & mix so no heatspots perfectly fine & done within 60seconds of him wanting a bottle!!
