Adding powder directly to boiling water? - Page 3

i use sma gold and i always wait the 30 mins and the other day we were in a rush so i just added it to boiling water and after LO had had the bottle and i emptied the last bits out it smelt rather strange ? so i dont know what it does but it did smell completely different to what it does usually

and just to add the one time i used boiling water i spilt it all over my hand (was in a rush :P) and ouch that effin killed! so for that reason alone i wait

Thats exactly how I do it, although I wait about 20 mins before adding powder - 1, because my bottles are not BPA free and 2, because Imi has bottles full right to the brim and if its too hot i can't hold the bottle to put the lid on lol x

yes this is exactly what we do. Baby crying for long enough doing it this way!!

I put the boiling water into the bottle, cool the bottle in a jug of cold water and then add the powder and if it is still too warm I run the bottle under the tap. But this is only because there is always someone wanting a cup of tea and if I don't get the water out first, chances are someone will reboil the kettle.
