At what age can my baby take Hungrier Baby Milk?

My wee boy is only 14 days old.
He is a very hungry baby and we are having problems getting him into a routine with his feeding.
He will take 4oz but fall asleep at about 2oz left in the bottle then we cant get him awake to finish it so then the milk goes to waste and after an hour hes starving again. He gets really unsettled and restless at nights coz of this.
I dont know if this is coz hes maybe needing a thicker milk.
At what age can we put him onto Hungrier Baby Milk?

Thanx

k
x

I think u need to speak to your HV about hungry milk. He is doing really well seeing as he is only 2 weeks old, it takes a while for them to get themselves into a feeding routine.

I would also speak to your HV. It does say on the tub you can feed it from birth though x

Personally I wouldn't use hungry milk yet. He is too young to be feeding at regular times anyway. I think you just have to go with it really, when he is a little older and more alert he will probably take more milk at a time.

he is too young to be in a routine yet, i would wait a few weeks and see, its normal at this stage to be feeding every couple of hours and sometimes every hour

sorry hun im not really clear from your post if he is taking 4oz or just 2oz every couple of hours? if it is just the 2oz then thats perfectly normal for around this age, but if he is taking 4oz i would speak to hv x

hungry baby milk probably isnt the answer for him just yet though hun x

I think that hungry baby milk is designed for babies to delay them from weaning to early. Although it does say on the tin that you can give it from birth.
Sounds like he is doing really well for a 2 week old!! xx

Yeah he doesnt sound like he needs hungry baby milk. My son at 2 weeks was taking 5oz bottles and was starvign hungry 2 hours later so he had to be put on the hungry baby milk as he was such a big boy and he couldnt get enough milk to sustain him. I would say if he taking 2-3 oz of normal milk then that is good for his age and if he was hungry he would take more in a sitting. Also he may not always be hungry it may be tiredness etc when he is restless. As for night time he will be up and down for quite a few weeks yet!
