Hi there, I was given a tip by my midwife (probably off the record!) that newborn babies dont mind if they have warm or cold milk as long as you dont change it once you have picked. Sooooo - I started off giving Luke cold milk - made by filling the bottles with slightly cooled boiled water (stored in the fridge) with powder just before each feed - or if im super lazy I make up 2 or 3 for the night and keep in the fridge - then only need to grab them for night feeds. Anyone else heard of this or doing this - Its made life much easier than warming bottles and LO has no time to cry for food if he wakes hungry. X |

For Christian, we have the milk at room temperature or sometimes a little warmer (dependant on the warming method when we've taken the milk out of the fridge). He seems to be fine with it but if it is too cold, he'll have issues. |

Our SCBU were very insistent that Imis milk (oral and tube) must be at room temp to make it easier for her to digest |

I usually get it out the fridge shortly before a feed, 5 mins or so before to warm up a little as usually straight from the fridge seems to give her more wind. |

If I need an emergency ready-made carton from the fridge, I warm the bottle up a bit. In hospital he was given bottles at room temperature, so I didn't want to change what he was used to. Also, I thought that feeding when out and about would be easier this way. ![]() Jx |

He has never refused a bottle though apart from once it was too cold as I had left his bottle in the bathroom overnight (water to add formula too) and it was colder than the fridge! Even I wouldn't have drunk that though....would give me a tummy ache lol |
