All four of my bottles have leaked! and thrown out.

I think theres a certain 'way' to tighten then, but sod knows what it is, mine leak too, whenever I try to use them.

Yep, ours always leaked as well so we stopped using them.

I think they need to be 110% dry before tightening them. I could never get them to stop leaking but OH could!

I was told 2 things to make sure they don't leak...and to be fair I haven't had leaky Avent bottles since (OMG they used to leak all over the place before I knew this!)

1. Make sure you wipe the rim of the top of the bottle to make sure there are no specks of milk powder.

2. Place the white ring and lid (with the teat/or the disc attached) on to the top of the bottle and then kind of turn it counter clockwise until it feels like it has dropped into a groove - it makes a noise and you can feel it. Then tighten it.

Hopefully that will give you leak free bottles!

Mine never leak

Mine don't leak, they do squirt milk out the teat for a few seconds when I first test the temp but I've found them to be ok

Knew I'd read a thread about this in the past, excuse me bumping it!

I've been using older Avent bottles with no leakage for months now. Bought a new (BPA free) bottle last week, and it leaks like a flippin' river!

Done some online research plus some testing, and have found the following.

When the BPA-free bottles were first launched, they suffered awfully from leaking. There is a method of lining up vents & flanges & tightening to a certain point, but try doing that in a hurry with a screaming baby.

The newer BPA-free bottles come with an extra ring, supposedly now a "two-part anti-colic system". And yes, using this ring stops the leakage. I'd left it out when I was using the bottle as my babba has no problems with colic. Now I'll have to ensure I use it.

Looking carefully, all that ring actually does is increase the height of the bottle neck above the threads! And then comparing it to my older bottles, I see that the new BPA-free bottles don't have a deep enough neck to press onto the teat and hold it in place within the ring.

"Two-part anti-colic" system, my a*se. Avent realised they had designed a duff bottle, and had to design an extra part to remedy the problem.

I get a facefull of milk every time I shake mine lol, I was going to bin them all, but seeing as its a common prob, I dont think I will!

I have that ring bit marleys girl is on about and it still leaks!! Useless, ive tried every way to tighten them i think its just luck if they dnt leak most the time ! Silly bottles !!
