Scoop Leveller

What do you ladies use as a scoop leveller?? I just use a knife, but should I be steralising the knife before using it?

We use a baby spoon, the kind you get when you start weaning and use the flat edge to level off the scoop. We pop it in the steriliser along with the bottle before each use - not sure if you have to, but we always have as we sterilise before each bottle is made up anyway.

I didn't realise until very late on (when we were about done with formula milk!).. but with the milk we used (Aptamil) there's a bit built into the lid where you can level off the scoop. Just looked like a bit of plastic going across the corner. Not sure if other brands have the same.
