greedy baby?

ok, Jacob just downed his 5oz bottle after his bath and I had to make up more of which he took another ounce! Is 6oz too much for 5 week old? What do you reckon, greedy baby or possible growth spurt?

Could be a growth spurt, if it isnt and he doesnt sick any up maybe he's just a hungry baby, my LO is/was like that. She used to drink 5oz every 2 hours at that age, now has 6-7pz every 4, she sorted herself out

Ruby was taking about oz at that age. Scally is right, if they don't sick much up (a bit is normal) then they needed it!

Could just be stocking up for the night?? you might find that he may sleep longer if he has taken more than usual....

We've got a 'greedy' baby I think as well (that's what we believe anyways) as he's presently about 15lbs and he's only 2.5 months. He's eating about 5 oz or 6 oz with each feed. It's getting crazy >.<

Hi Craftymum, Aiden is 5 weeks and 3 days and for the past 2 days he has been doing exactly the same, and wanting feeds every 2.5-3 hours and taking 5oz!!! I was reluctant at first because I thought, surely he can't need it, but he isnt bringing it back up so I'm guessing he is going through a growth spurt. They say they do at around 6 weeks or so. So I will continue to feed him when he is hungry and see how it goes... xx

Earl is 2.5 weeks old (he was a big boy at 9lb6oz and has grown a lot in this short time - not sure about his weight though) and is drinking 4-5oz per feed now. He isnt sicking any up and is feeding every 3-4 hours with a good amount of sleep between. He is also going 5 hours between feeds at night at the moment bless him . I am sure he's going to eat us out of house and home but as long as he's happy, that's all that I worry about. If he wants food, I feed him.......

I hadn't even thought about him being a 'greedy baby' as he just eats regular meals. I don't know whether he is out of the ordinary for his age/weight/size or not.
