Green poo..

My baby has done a poo this morning and it is slightly green. Is this normal for formula fed babies???
He is on Cow&Gate 1. He is 8 weeks old and has 6floz each feed or less - he takes what he wants. He has around 5/6 feeds a day.

Please help xx

Is it iron fortified formula? It can give poo a green colour. If you're worried you could always call Cow and Gate for advice, but I'm sure it's normal x

Sophie had a green poo yesterday hun, only breastfed babies have always yellowy poo. The colour can vary quite a lot with formula fed LO's I believe.

I think different formulas and the way your baby digests them is the reason for this. All babies are different after all. Dont panic its fine and normal. My LO is on SMA gold and her poo is sometimes green sometimes like mustard lol eeew. (sorry if TMI)

you wait until he starts on solid food lmao... his poo will be all colours then hahaha

Green poo is a sign of tummy ache or constipation. Roman had it alot when he was on cow and gate. The HV and doctor told me to change his milk and recommended aptimal. He's been a different baby since i swapped him over and his poo is mustard colour (normal).

My pediatrician told me that both green and yellow poos are completely normal for FF babies. As sam's mum mentioned the iron in the formula can cause their poo to be green. Hannah always had a bit of both when she pooed

She was never a sicky baby and never seemed to have any tummy aches. Green poo can be and is normal for a FF baby

green poo indicates wind problems in the bowel. Thats all.
Once Mylo had green AND yellow poo all come out in a marble effect.. it was very pretty! lol... NOT

since we have been on infant gaviscon for his colic his poos have resembled the colour of mustard again! still- better than green! lol

My LO was on SMA and had yellow nuggets - badly constipated. So we changed him to Aptamil where he no longer strains himself silly to go, he was having nice yellow explosions, but there getting more greeny now, but he seems fine in himself and its not constipation, think its just the formula digesting.
