how did you decide?

Due to one thing or another I have decided to bottle feed but I keep being told that I should wait and decide until he comes along and not make such a big decision now. but in my eyes i want to know how i'm going to feed and be prepared for that BEFORE he comes not onces hes here. just have a few questions for you...
-how and what made you decide?
-did you wait until your baby was here?
thanks girls xxxx

I never decided before I had my LO. I didn't feel the need to choose one way or the other, and wanted to see how I felt after the birth.

I did make sure I had a couple of bottles and formula in the house just in case though. My LO was born over Christmas though, when no shops were open and I didn't want to get caught out.

I was always more comfortable with FF and had decided early on that that was what I was going to do.

I had planned to bf but coz I had a haemorrhage things didn't go to plan. I had bottles in the house but no formula milk so we had to go to mothercare on the way home from hospital! Next time I would prob keep a couple of cartons in the house as a back up, even tho I plan to bf next time x

I decided not to BF before she was born and I didnt change my mind afterwards either.
For me I just was really sure that I didnt want to right from the beginning.
I was the same as you,I wanted to make my decision and be prepared so I had all my bottles, steriliser and such before hand.
One thing to be prepared for is that midwifes in the hospital might try and convince you to 'give it a go'.Also dont let anyone make you feel guilty. Its your body, your choice xxx

I was stupid and thought no matter what I'd be breastfeeding, unfortunatly that didn't happen and I hadn't bought any formula (luckily I knew I'd be expressing sometimes so bought a pack of bottles) and we had to steal some from the hospital when we had problems. You might make the decision either way now, but just in case I'd get some bottles and formula in you can always use it to top up at night if you DO breastfeed, or if you BF and don't use it, give it to a friend that FFs?

I wanted to breastfeed...and i did...for two weeks, then one tuesday night i ended up sending my partner to tesco for bottles, milk and sterillising fluid. Breastfeeding just wasnt for me in the end.
