I've made the decision

not to have any bridesmaids.

are they really a necessity? everybody a work says it wont look proper, but i can honestly say i dont want any.

i know a lot of people, but i cant pick any that i would want to support me on my day.

when we got married we had one bridesmaid, the only thing she did was help me fasten my dress, held my flowers during the service and just made sure I looked okay before I walked down the aisle, the 3 people we couldn't have done without were the 2 ushers and best man, they were fantastic and helped out loads! It's your wedding and your decision, don't let others influence you!

(I'm a mum2be posting this on my husbands log in btw, he didn't wear a dress to our wedding lol)

I'm only having the one and at one point did actually consider not having any. My OH was saying 'why don't you ask so and so' but he was saying people I'd not known for too long and somone that I wouldn't share things with etc.

I think its very personal my MOH has been my friend for 11 years - we actually met because she was going out with one of the lads I knew at school. They spilt up but we always remained friends, went clubbing etc etc. She's actually the only friend I went out drinking etc with years ago.

I went to a wedding last year and there was no BM's & nobody noticed.

You could always have a 'Man of Honor' rather than a BM? I've seen that done before too.

You have what you want - its YOUR day, don't let anyone boss you about.

xx

If you don't want any hun, don't have any!

I have 7 - 4 adults and 3 FGs. I have twin sisters so both of them and they are fab and very helpful, my SiL2B who has been such a massive help with all my stationary stuff etc and my best friend who is always there for me when I need her. Couldn't imagine not having any of them I did however not pick my 2 half sisters - which i'm not sure went down too well, but they couldn't even be bothered to come to our engagement party so I knew along time ago I wouldn't asdk them

I agree that it is completely up to you however my BM has been amazing so far. She has been so supportive and been with me to everything and arranged an amazing hen night. I couldn't have done it without her really and has been really nice to share it with her. We have been friends for years but hadn't been so close recently but it really has made us close again which is lovely. She really has appreciated being asked I think. But you have to do what is best for you and no one else!

this may sound selfish of me but the i didnt want any! my best friend who i felt i had to ask or she would be disappointed would have driven me insane asking me constantly if she looked ok etc and i know she would have been no use to me LOL luckily for me she got preg and was due week after wedding so when i spoke to her about it we jointly decided not to have her and i chose not to have any full stop, it worked good for me, i had a close family friend who had lost her daughter to cancer help me get in my dress there wasnt really a need for bridesmaid
so all that waffle and im trying to say do what you want to do hunny if u think u need their support have them if u think u can do without u will do fab
