This might be a stupid question... but what signature do you sign your marriage license in? I havent thought of a new one yet

The name you have now, so what would be your maiden name and not your married name

Thats what I was going to say too...

Here in the states even tho you get married, you still have to file for a legal name change

You sign your maiden name as until the register is signed you are actually married on paper if that makes sense?

I havent gotten around to sorting out name change stuff yet...its a headache I need to haul my marriage certificate around town with me to my banks and stuff.

I hadnt even thought about my signature!

Okay, now I'm confused... After we got married I had to sign with my new name (used the same sig just changed the last name..) on the marriage license? We were told to do that otherwise we'd have to file for the name change legally....

The last time that you're supposed to sign your maiden name is on the register.

In practice it doesn't really work like that (eg, banks usually want both) but that's the theory.
