How do I wean him off

Wel we've made it to 16 months which I'm proud about thought we would have gotten further but I guess not!

So how do I get him off the breast,he doesn't like any other liquid apart from breast milk and he doesn't use a bottle/beaker. I feel like I have to do this for my sanity,I am no longer enjoying it my nipples have been hurting over a week and the pain doesn't seem to be easing. I dread feeding him now and come night time I'm not gettin much sleep as he just wants to be on the breast all night-this used to be ok but I can't sleep when I feel as if I have needles took into my boob

There are several gentle ways to wean a child off the breast. One I've seen is the don't offer, don't refuse and also distraction. I would keep encouraging drinking from cups. Have you tried an open cup as opposed to a sippy one?

We have tried every bottle/beaker/cup possible he just hates the taste of it it makes him retch lol he doest have much milk in the day just for a nap or wen he's tired and I never offer it to him I just wait for him to be pulling at my top and when he does that there I no distraction that works

What do you think is causing the nipple pain? If the pain subsides, would you carry on?

We co sleep aswell I don't really want to stop that but I think that could be our main problem as there just there for him to help himself whenever he wants them which seems to be All the time

Hiya,

The first things that spring to my mind are teething, thrush and pregnancy. Any of those possible?
