One breast with very little milk

Does anyone have any tips on what to do as I have one boob that just doesn't seem to produce much. The other one is fine!

I always put the baby first on the 'lazy' boob and try to let him suck on it as long as he doesn't get too frustrated or upset to provide more stimulation. Sometimes he has the patience to try but usually he won't take it for very long.

And then he empties the other boob and still seems hungry. And I have nothing left! He's been starting to get really upset after the milk slows down (or is finished??) and there is no more to offer. It's been quite a lot of screaming and loads and loads of sucking of hands. It's not like when he had growth spurts and he'd just be feeding for ages. Now he gets so frustrated he won't even try.

Ideas?

Keep putting him on or you could try pumping that side after and inbetween feeds. I have one that seems to fill better so I try to make sure I dont favour it.

I have one breast that doesn't seem to have as much as the other, but for some reason Amelia doesn't like it very much! At times she point blank refuses to feed from it so i have to give her the other one first then put her onto my smaller one.

The breastfeeding consultant told me i could just feed from one breast. Seriously i could not walk about with one mammoth sized boob and a little fried egg on the other side!!

Maybe try expressing milk from that breast between feeds as often as possible, to get it going - and also save up and freeze said milk so when he has a growth spurt you could maybe top him up? I dont know, just a thought.

I also have one side that seems to produce more milk, but pumping has really helped, and sometimes now it will exceed the other side. The doctor did say this is completely normal, sometimes one side just doesn't produce as much!!
