Domperidone and metoclopramide experiences

I am interested to hear from anyone who has tried Domperidone tablets (sold as brandname Motilium 10 in UK) and/or metoclopramide tablets in order to increase milk supply.

In particular how long did it take to notice any difference, and how long did you need to stay on the tablets or did the effects disappear as soon as you stopped taking them?

Been thinking about it for a good while but was too worried to take them until I had looked into it a lot more closely!

No not on prescription, don't think they are supposed to be prescribed for bf in the UK, they are in some countries but not here.

Hi I was just reading your thread about domperidone could you let me know the strenth and doses you are on as I am hoping my GP will let me have them as I really don't want to give up breast feeding but if I can't increase my milk supply I may have to as I have tried everything else Thank you

domperidone has been OTC for a while now; and some GPs will prescribe it for milk supply; its off licence use so they are not really supposed to but some do xx

My GP happily prescribes me domperidone to help with my supply, you can buy them OTC but they're nearly £5 for 10 tablets. Good luck

I'm taking domperidone for almost two months now. My Dr. said to keep taking until i stop BF. It works okay for me, took me two full weeks to see a max effect. I'm on 120mg per day. that's the medium dose. The lowest dose prescribed by LC is 90 mg/day and the highest is 160 mg per day. I didn't notice that much of difference btw 90 mg and 120 mg...
