Hi

Your best bet is to express and freeze it, better to have too much than not enough.

can i keep the first 2 oz in the fridge then add the other 2oz then freeze alltogether?

I would freeze them in seperate freezer bags as they only have a certain life, mixing milk from different times isn't recommended, you can buy disposable freezer bags for expressing and you write the date and time on each so you know where your at. Just tried to express both sides into one bag.
You should be able to get about 6oz per sitting, im only going off personal experience and i know everyone is different,
Good luck

Hi Tezzy!

I freeze mine seperate, in seperate baggies. Like you, I can only pump an oz or two at a time.

You should be fine having 3-4 oz per feed. But I'd have an oz or two extra just in case she's fussy. Sharlotte is eating 3-5 oz a sitting now (from the bottle- so I assume that's about what she takes from the breast.

I keep them seperate cuz I'm anal that way. If there was something on the flange for one pump vs another... ya know...

I defrost however many oz I need for a feed (in Sharlotte's case I defrost 2-2oz bags) and put them both in the same bottle.

I don't ever pump and refrigerate. I only freeze, then defrost what I need. Any extra from the defrosted feed, I do refrigerate that for 24 hours if it's needed later.

This stuff is liquid gold to me since pumping it is such a hassle, so I have to be very cognizant of how I 'package' it for use (so as not to waste any).

2oz increments work well now since that's what I can pump.

If i'm going out I'll have a couple of days where I pump first thing in the morning (I feed Sam from one side, then pump the other - usually get enough for a whole feed), then feed him from the first side again - I find that I spend most of the morning feeding, but I find that easier than just pumping what's left a few times a day.

And I freeze it straight away too.

Just wanted to mention that your breasts might get uncomfortably full if you're out for a long time, so if you can take your pump with you, or hand express a bit when you need to it'll make the evening a lot easier!

Hope you have a great night! x
