Normal, Hungry or Other?

Hey all, Im beginning to wonder about my little girl, she is feeding so much, all the time, during the day anyway...is it normal? Sometimes I am feeding her constantly, she never stays on for more than 10 minutes, but I can feed her 3 times in an hour?
She is awake practically all day long, will nap for about an hour once, and occasional 15 mins here, 20 mins there, and will fall asleep in her pram for about another hour. It just seems such a long time for her to be awake? I wonder if she is getting through to the good milk, since she is feeding for such a short period but often? Im definetly getting the let down, she changed the way she is sucking, most days it just feels like literally all I do is feed her.
I guess I just wanted to know if this is normal? She is great at night though, goes to sleep with me about midnight, then sleeps for 2 four hour periods with a quick feed in the middle. Sorry for the rambling post lol, any advice is appreciated!

Sam's the same with his sleeping (and has been since he was about 6 weeks) - awake pretty much all day and asleep all night

Does she seem satisfied after a feed? And is she coming off the breast herself or falling asleep while feeding? If she's falling asleep you can try breast compressions just to remind her what she's meant to be doing (thumb on one side and fingers on the other, quite far back from the nipple, and squeeze until she stops sucking).

If you're feeding several times close together and you're worried about her not getting enough hindmilk, use the same breast for each of those feedings.

She should start to take a bit more at each feeding and last longer between feeds as she gets a bit older x

Yeah she is falling asleep at the breast a fair bit actually...I put her down and she wakes up within 30 mins, but usually after 10 or so, so I feed her again...she falls asleep...wakes up, I feed her...you get the picture lol!

But shes not like that all the time, sometimes she comes off herself and is quite content, but mostly, yes, falling asleep at the breast. I think ill make more of an effort to make sure she isnt always falling asleep there. Although, after I posted that today she slept for 2 and a half hours!

I was just going to suggest keeping her awake longer during a feed. Unbundle her (get her naked if you have to) or tickle her toes, play with her ears, anything to keep her sucking as long as possible (15-30 mins). This way she gets as much hindmilk as possible. Hindmilk has lots of fats and takes longer to digest. This makes for a baby that isn't starving every hour and sleeps a little longer

Thats really funny, Ive had the same with Seth the past couple of days and I think he and your Skye were born on the same day.
He usually goes on for like 5-10 minutes, finishes, and then about 10-15 mins later he's scareaming for food again. Before now he would usually feed less frequently for 20 mins a go!

Not sure what to advise, just wanted to say that we have the same thing here

Thanks for your advice everyone, the last couple of days ive been waking her up after feeding, sometimes she wants more milk, others is quite happy just being awake, and she has been sleeping for longer spells, a couple of hours early in the day, rather than 20 mins or so a few times..so I think its working. She is seeming quite contented anyway!

Sounds like comforta sucking, she a strong bond with you mommy....literally (ok jokes aside)....some babies luv to be at the breast all day because they find it soothing. It's very normal. If it bothers you you can try giving her a dummy (pacifier) to see if she will take it. I doubt she is actually feeding each time.
