She doesnt stay latched on for long..?

Well, its day 5 of breastfeeding Ffion and all is going well except she latches on and off every few minutes throughout her feed and gets really impatiant. She is definetly latched on properly whilst shes feeding and im not quite sure why she keeps letting go and then wanting more?

is there anything i can do to make her latch on longer?

She might just be getting used to the flow. If it's near the start it might be a bit much for her, or if it's later on in the feed it might be because it's slowed down and she wants it to be faster! Does she go straight back on afterwards? If that's what it is she should soon get used to the fact that there is more in there and she just has to work for it

If she's squirming and coming off, she might also have a bit of wind and be uncomfortable so she'll let go and realise she's still hungry - burping her in the middle of the feed might help x

Izzie does this too. I think she does it because she gets overwhelmed with the flow. She's starting to latch on for longer periods now, though.

Yes Valerie did this for quite some time and still does every now and then. Whenever the flow is too much for her or too slow for her she will do it.

yes, I agree to what others said already.

sound like you possibly have a quick let-down reflex and LO is overwhelmend by niagara falls

in the beginning it was the same with my LO, it settles down by time
