I'm still pretty swollen. I can't get my wedding ring on my finger yet. I've lost about 25 lbs. but I only lost 12 after I had a 10.5 lbs baby and a 4 lbs. placenta but somehow only lost 12 lbs. I'm glad to know why now!

Remember it can take up to 9 months to shift the weight. I'm only just shifting the last few lbs and Kaya's six and a half months.

Toria, all that water in the IV weighs something too Like in Holldolls case, she ended up 'gaining' some weight as she had her almost 11 lb baby and it's 4lb placenta because of fluid she was given during labor.

It took the better part of a week to get the first initial water weight off. I can finally see my ankles but I still have some edema on my shins and legs.

Plus there's extra blood volume that's slowly decreasing over a month or so... it all adds up.

Just remember to continue avoiding caffine, drink LOTS AND LOTS of water that'll help pull the water weight off

I looked like a balloon at the end of pregnancy and had a natural birth! after giving birth my hands were so dry, I needed to moisturise them three days in a row all day long until they came back to normal! labour was hard physical work for my body and even during labour I lost so much fluid already! as well, I could not drink during labour, the only one attempt to drink failed into vomitting! and after giving birth I lost 10 kg in two weeks

I think an induction with IV and an induction by having your waters broken would produce different amounts of water. My hands are still pretty swollen.

I took me longer to lose the water weight too. I know its different since I had the c-section, but I had tons of fluid through the IV. Looking at pics when I left the hospital, compared to now, or even like a month after Erica was born, I can see such a difference. Marge you are SO smart. I never would have thought about the extra fluid you are getting in the IV. If they ever need to give me one again, I'm gonna be like "no thanks, I'm watching my weight" LOL. Theyre gonna think I'm nuts.
