electric pumps?

anyone know if electric pumps are a lot better than manual ones before i splash out on one as they are pretty expensive. Any ideas whic are good ones as well? thanks

Electric are MUCH better - if you are going to pump regularly then I would definitely invest!! I have used mine so much the motor has just packed in so have had it replaced... but I pump ALOT!

I have the philips Avent one which is great because you can set it to your preferred speed - I find it very efficient and would defo recommend it.

i have a tommy t one - it was half price in mothercare recently. works really well. very happy with it

I just bought a Lansinoh Affinity Double Electric Breast Pump..it's pretty nice..and it wasn't ridiculously expensive..it was $149. I use it about 4 times a day..I get about 5oz in 9mins..so it's pretty good. I can't complain

i had a manual but couldn't get the rhythm right as i was still suffering with carpel tunnel in my wrists.
if you intend on expressing alot an electric one wll help loads. i now have a medela swing got it half price on ebay. (should be £99)

I have the Ameda Lactaline Dual electric - I use it 3 times a day at work and it's great, you can control the strength and speed of suction to trigger letdowns. The motor is guaranteed for a year (unlike many) and it's overall pretty fab. Mine was £80 on sale from the NCT shop - think it's £95 full price.

I use the Medula electric pump and i swear by it, i bought the tomee tippee one and nearly electrecuted my boobs, as the milk went up the air vent pipe and into the console! Afterwards when looking online also found this to be quite common, so would stear clear of it!
Avent one is supposed to bevery good but is very expensive, the one i use is 59.99 in Boots at the moment, and worth every penny! xx

If you're going to be using it regularly, I'd say the Medela Symphony- double, hospital grade & quiet! Oh so quiet. It's quite pricy to buy though. You can, however, hire it direct from then for £40 per month.

I am having to use an double electric pump because I am inducing lactation for a surrogate baby - but I use the Medela In Style Advanced, and it's great

I read that if you are going to express for going back to work then invest in a double electric pump - saves lots of time especially if you are expressing at work too
