I feel exactly the same! I think at the end of the day as with labour and pregnancy you always hear peoples horror stories or bad sides of everything. I'm glad I never really listened to anyone and have been extremally lucky to have an easy pregnancy, labour and now breastfeeding is a doddle! Keep at the good work! x

Because it really is hard for alot of women! It was painful and a huge struggle for me but I'm still at it. I mean obviously women have their issues because the percentage of women that are still breastfeeding at six months is a drastic drop! So many women give up in the early days. Your lucky hun!

Consider yourself lucky..My LO would not latch, but I refuse to go to formula so I pump about 6 times a day so he can still get breastmilk..now that he eats alot more I'm getting a little afraid that I wont be able to keep up..so far I pump about 24oz a day

I thought the same at 2 weeks.
Then the 3 week growth spurt hit and oo I had to keep my eye on the prize and keep remembering this wasn't some myth, growth spurts are real and will pass.
Then we hit colic, and my poor baby's cries broke my heart.
Then over supply issues giving her a sore tum, another growth spurt, trying to get back to 'normal', jabs, sleeplessness, another growth spurt... and that was someone who had it 'easy'

Plus, there's alot of people who had no idea what to expect, that it would improve, and have to confirm to themselves that the whole darn lot is impossible.

Enjoy the yummy times, and remember the tough ones will pass

I also have a lot of people remarking on how difficult bf is and how well I'm doing - and I definitely need to hear it! For me and my LO it was a bit of a struggle from the start, although things are much better now. I'd say you're extremely lucky - enjoy the experience!

Thanks ladies. I read a lot beforehand, so I knew what to expect and I think that made a big difference in figuring out immediately if what I was doing was wrong and adjusted accordingly. The growth spurt where he ate every hour was only a pain because my nipples got sensitive, but minor discomfort is something I can deal with. Maybe its just my idea of hard doesn't include what I consider normal for taking care of an infant.

I think i have been lucky as Amelie has always been a brilliant feeder even with a tongue tie.

Tongue tie caused her to have a bit of colic but now that is sorted eveything is fine.

Amelie gets what we call booby madness where she has to feed NOW so i could not imagine getting a bottle ready for her.

I found the night feeds easy too and she has been sleeping through for a while now too

I thought I had prepared too but nothing prepared me for the physical and mental pain of establishing breastfeeding.

Guess I was just making a fuss though!

well a lot encounter problems theyt arnt helped with that make things harder, I had crackled nipples for months and my doc didnt know what it was and gave me the wrong cream and I was in agony! bleeding nipples and tears. I cant imagine many would suffer through that. Had I been helped it wouldn't have happened. Other mothers dont like the loose of freedom, I even read someone saying they wanted their body back after a few weeks and gave up.
I dont find it hard to give my son time, suppose I am lucky in that way. So many made it sound like a nightmare but its not, they are the few that give up way to early.
