Laws on BF'ing in public

Hi,

Can someone clarify the law on Bf'ing in public please. I know that they were talking about making it illegal in England to ask someone to leave/stop BF'ing (like in Scotland) but I didnt think this had happened.

My latest mum and baby mag (prima i think) said that BF'ing Mums are protected by law, so Im not sure which is correct.

Does anyone know the latest position? plus if the law wasn't passed why not?

I had come across this article when Googling the subject but there are so much contradictory info.

From what I can see Scotland has a specific law which makes it an offence to stop someone breastfeeding. England doesn't have this but if you were asked to leave somewhere you could threaten them with action under the sex discrimiation act. Looks like that the equality bill which clarifies that this includes breastfeeding still hasn't come info force and won't for a while.

Seems a lot clearer in Scotland!
