ANOTHER reason why I love Breastfeeding and a few questions...

We are going on holiday soon and I don't have to worry about taking bottles/formula/sterilising out there etc etc etc etc!

Couple of questions though...

1. Anyone know the attitudes to Breastfeeding in Majorca/Spain? Obviously I know one rule doesn't fit a whole country, but just if I could have an idea if its seen as rude in a restraunt/by the pool etc?

2. The water for her doidy/beaker....should I preboil it or buy bottled or what??

Anything else I might want to consider?

Thanks ladies xxx

not sure about attitudes in spain. but the water should be pre boiled as bottled water can contain too much salt. have a good holiday x

Think outside the uk and America people are pretty ok about it as its more done. I do know in Brazil like 99% of woman breastfeed (random useless fact).

I bf my daughter at 7 months in ibiza and 18 months in mainland spain and nobody batted an eyelid.I think I saw more spanish women feeding their children than I see women over here doing it,and wherever you look on holiday, someone has their boobs out anyway hehehe.
I would buy bottled water then boil it just to be doubly safe.

I read that in a book I have and apparently they couldn't understand the idea of not breastfeeding and never heard of it. Its in the book "politics of breastfeeding" .

we to are going on holiday but to cyprus (dont know about views on BF) and i ask our health visitor about water etc she said to boil bottled water or only use evian as is has the closes mineral content to our water - also to make sure you drink plus plus amounts of fluids yourself to keep supply up due to increase heat at risk of dehydration.

enjoy your holiday - how old will your LO be when you go ? ours will be 15 weeks

Looking forward to two weeks of relaxing....no cooking, cleaning, washing pots or anything like that! Just bliss! xx

I'm going to costa del sol Spain end of July but my sister is only 3 and when she was being breastfed we went to the same place and noone battered an eyelid. Spanish are very family orientated, it's more likely to be other British people who cause a fuss!
