Cooking with breast milk

I just made fish pie for La and for the cheese sauce I used breast milk to make it (had no full fat milk in the fridge but loads of EBM and thought breast milk would be better than semi skimmed).

Let me tell you, my sauces are always lumpy but this one was perfect and tasted yum! I urge you to try it for your next dinner party!

(PS I know cooking with it will have killed off some antibodies etc but it would with normal milk, too.)

Might not tell OH and let him eat some... Not that he minds actually, I mix it in with lots of her food when it needs extra liquid and he eats that just fine.

i am getting a yogurt maker and making LO yogurt with EBM, and I think I will also try making ice-cream with it as well.

I never even considered using my BM in cooking. That's a good idea! Now if I could actually pump enough out to make something with.

Well as predicted husband tried the fish pie and said 'oh my god, this is amazing!' Just as he was putting the spoon is his mouth for the second time I told him about the breastmilk sauce... he stopped then, funnily enough!

I wish I was there to see that reaction. DH has tried my milk just plain and doesn't mind it.

I do this too but just with Harvey's food since OH refuses to try my BM. Although to be fair, it's hard work pumping - I think I'd grudge spending ages pumping just for OH to guzzle it all

DH is always making jokes regarding never running out of milk for cornflakes - but he steadfastly refuses to taste it! He claims it just feels 'a bit weird'....I'm considering making him some custard and just not saying anything until he's finished
