I don't see how it's your fault? I think you have done amazingly, lots of people don't even attempt to BF and most would not be able to go through all that you have. I think it is really important that even if you do decide to stop BF,you don't let this become a guilt issue which you carry around with you. If you didn't get the help and support you needed at the start then you are not to blame for that, and everyone can see that you just want what is best for your LO which makes you a great mummy. I would hate to see you stop BF and then go on blaming yourself for it, that would be the worst outcome! If you stop, stop and be proud of what you achieved.

You haven't failed at all sweets! You're doing what you can to find a solution and that's the sign of a good mother, not a failing one!

Just one other thing to add to all the good advice you've already had, jocelyn would lose weight during a growthspurt where she was growing longer - it was like she was putting the calories in to growing longer legs than fat deposition iykwim? HV was never worried and she'd always put on weight again next time - the constant pawing would also go with a growth spurt if she's upping your supply?

Just a thought to add into the pot anyway!

I'm so depressed. My milk's already drying up and LO is already getting too impatient at the breast. I keep crying although It's a lot better than friday.

I imagine it's my hormone imbalances that are at the core of this problem.

I saw one but the thing is since she's lost weight I just don't have the bottle to wait for a solution. I think I may call one tomorrow to see if there's a chance I can get my supply up and get off the formula more long term but it's only been three days and she's looking and acting so much more settled and healthy.

I just keep thinking about her looking up at me when she used to feed and sometimes I'd get a smile and it just felt like the most amazing thing. And now she just gets all impatient and unhappy and I have to try really hard to calm her down, just after three days.

Have you tried fenugreek or domperidone even? Since your GP is aware of your struggle.

Confused by the weight loss though, you said on the 10th that all was OK and had an appt a week later, but on the 12th she'd lost weight? What happened there, was it moved forward? Should really have kept the original date as you were doing sooo well! You were doing something right, so not really sure what else to say.

xxx

You are doing great sweetie!!!

It is not going to happen overnight, but with PERSEVERANCE you will succeed!!
I know you will rebuild your supply, but don't wait to get the help, GO FOR IT!!
Don't give up, remember that you are giving your baby the best, and sometimes we all have to sacrifice to get the best ( even babies )

I had to stop BF for 1 1/2 months, and after a month of hard work, I was BF and giving just BM to my baby during the day, just one bottle formula at night

SO IT IS POSSIBLE WITH THE APPROPRIATE HELP AND YOUR DETERMINATION!!!
