Breastfeeding + Periods

Breastfeeding mummies!

Just a quick question really, was just wondering how many of you got your period while breastfeeding?

My midwife said i woudn't get a period until after i stopped breastfeeding but i got my period at the beginning of this week (my first one in a year!) What does this mean? Did anyone else get there period while still breastfeeding? I kind of hoped i wouldn't have to deal with this for a while!! Lol.

i got mine back when Marley was 5 months, they've been every two to three weeks since

ETA: He's not even on solids yet

I got mine last week and I exclusively BF and only had her 11 weeks ago so I was pretty surprised and also peed off as I was looking forward to no period for a lot longer yet!

I got mine when Elliott was 11 weeks old. I was not very impressed!x

Glad to see i'm not the only one! How annoying!! Lol.

Especially since this time next month i'll be on holiday, so most likely will be on my period then as well! - Grrr!

I got mine back when LO was 5 months old, and they were 40+ days.

I've had what appears to be a light period since I started taking the mini pill. The doctor said you don't really get periods with this pill just sporadic bleeding. GREAT! So it could pop up any time!

Mine came back when Isobelle was 11weeks. Had 2 since and maaaan they're awful.
Had hoped that BF would be kind but it seems not - every mw & hv before the birth assured me that af was rare when BF... so I feel really cheated.
