Let down issues.

SO how soon after you start feeding do you get a let down? Isn't the early fast sucking supposed to initiate it? And is it possible to NOT get a let down form one side? My left side seems to not have had a let down for about three days. I tried pumping it last two days to try and see if it happened but nothing. My left side is also the one that's quite leaky throughout the day (soaks the breast pad far more than the right) and the only time it feels "let downish"is when I get a let down on my right side: then my left side leaks a bit but I don't think its a real let down.

And I know a let down as I feel it AND LO starts GULPING away like crazy.

Also, this may have been the difference. I always used to try and stop my leaking but a lactation consultant on the phone said I shoudl let it flow. (seems a waste but I assumed it meant it would replenish itself?)

Sorry to be obsessed with let downs but my baby can be so frustrated on the boob sometimes till she gets one.

If I were you I'd just keep her going with the left side, even if you don't feel the let down. I've only felt the let down in the early days and occasionally at the end of a growth spurt. She seems to prefer my left side, so I guess it's the easier one to feed from, but keep using both and it will catch up. You are producing milk from both sides, so I'm sure you'll be fine.

The thing is she is preferring the right side now and she gets SOOO impatient so I don't know what to do. I will keep feeding her but just wondered if there's a reason I can only feel a let down (on both sides) when she's on the right boob AND that I never (well for the past three or four days) hear her GLUGGING away like she does after a let down.

my let down is faster and stronger on one side, and i can feel it more. if often makes him cry because it can be really fast and he can't keep up.
i can't feel my let down at all on the other side but i know the milk is there as i leak etc.

maybe the delivery of the milk isn't fast enough for her, on the leaky boob.
