You're in the 3 week growth spurt... it shakes everybody's confidence.

I don't think they knew/acknowledge the pattern of growth spurts back when my mum was nursing.

I reckon it's got to be one of the biggest causes of women giving up on BFing... lots of people you'll speak to will say "It got to X weeks/months and my milk just wasn't enough/dried up etc etc"... It's not true, but it feels that way because everything suddenly shifts.

Head over to the BF section and prepare to hit the sofa and nurse for some extended periods Grab a book, some yummy nibbles and cue up a good DVD or the iplayer

excellent advice, you will find lots of help and encouragement in the bf section. and you should NEVER EVER feel ashamed, you are doing an amazing thing for your baby, and if other people have got a problem with that then, they must be very narrow minded idoits, sorry to be blunt, but you are doing as nature intended, its your choice no one elses, and dont ever let any one make you feel like you are wrong, try telling your baby they should be in a routine, and o no it hasnt been 3 hours yet so you cant have a feed!!!! babies are not greedy they will only feed when they need to x x x
