How long did you/have you bf for and how long did you want to feed for? - Page 3

I wanted to make it at least a year and then thought as long as she and I were happy, I'd continue. She went until 22 months.

I said I'd try it and wanted to get past the colostrum, and best case scenario for me was going to be 6months. Once we started I couldn't imagine not doing it even with the tongue tie and sheer agony and womb infection and mastitis. We're now at 8months and I intend to take it to a year and then encourage him off but not force anything. Hoping he'll not drag it out too long

I keep changing my mind, originally I said 3-4 months. Now I'm thinking more like 6 months. I know I'll miss it whenever I stop!

I would love to go to at least a year! I feel like crying when I think a about stopping and I never thought I'd feel like that x

With my first I really had no goal...we only made it about a month due to many problems

With my 2nd I wanted to make it atleast 6mo, then a year...he weaned at 11mo after being sick

With my 3rd I wanted to get to 18mo...he self weaned at 19mo

I still miss it

originally i only wanted to make it to 6 months and i didnt enjoy it. now i do enjoy it and would like to continue to a year and then see how we both feel.

I have been BFing nearly 18 months now. I had intended to feed for a year and not more than 2 years but now my goal is 2 years and I dont have a set stopping date in mind--just want to see how it goes.

With my first I thought I'd just try and go a few days and see how it went. After a few days i shot for 2 weeks. At 2 weeks I thought 6 weeks sounded good. At 6 weeks I decided 6 months. At 6 months I figured I might-as-well go to a year. At a year I thought about trying to wean but baby didn't want to. We ended up stopping at 24 months + 1 week.

This time I hope to go to AT LEAST a year, but will let baby self-wean whenever he is ready after that.

I always thought i'd bf until 6 months, am now at 18 and am perfectly happy to carry on until Gem has had enough..

although i did get asked this morning if i'm only carrying on because i don't want to 'let go'
