Oh the times I swore when I splashed milk all over the floor/baby/furniture!!

These have vented and non-vented shells in a set... so you can collect milk in the non-vented without it sprinkling everywhere when you lean over...

aww i feel your pain!!!! i used to have to change my top loads, then i'd have to change isabel's outfit too cos i'd soaked her getting out the shower/having a wash was a nightmare cos i'd drip milk loads and don't even get me started on waking up in the middle of the night absolutely drenched with rock hard boobs!!!!

the good news is it passes by about 7-9 weeks my supply regulated big time and the leaking got soooo much better then as of about 4 months i've hardly had leaks at all and now when i'm feeding i don't soak me or isabel as my body seems to have learnt only to release milk from the side isabel is drinking from

in the meantime, until your supply regulates here's what might help:
- the breast shells mentioned above (great for popping in to collect milk on non feeding side...just learn from my mistakes and make sure you don't put it the wrong way round if using the ventilated shells as milk leaks out the holes! also make sure it fits snugly in your bra against your skin else it'll still leak on your clothes and be careful when taking them out bra! also, be aware you can only wear them for max of 40 mins at a time)
- apply gentle pressure for 10-20 secs with fingers or palms of hand to your nipple as soon as you feel letdown and periodically throughout feeding (if not using shell and just using pad)
- have a little makeup bag that you can easily grab when sitting down to feed and have it filled with breast pads so you can regularly check the pad in non feeding side and keep changing for a fresh one while feeding

i also found it helped to tuck a muslin or bib into my bra under the side where i was feeding to catch all the spilled/dribbled milk and protect my bra and clothes as well as keep isabel dry. if i'm honest i still do this a lot as my letdown is still very fast and if isabel is distracted from feeding we end up wet!!!

I bought the Avent ones but my nipples don't poke far enough in - the bit with the hole in curves in and my nipple sits inside it and drips down the edge!
