Quick Q


I have a bottle of ebm in the fridge. It's to used today as it's 5 days old. Can I freeze it or am I best to use it? X

TBH in a household fridge that will have been opened and shut a lot I wouldn't even use it at 5 days.. In the nicu I work out we keep milk for 3 days, I know some units keep milk for up to 5 days but they're in properly regulated fridges that won't be being opened in the same way as a home fridge would and therefore subjected to the temp fluctuations yours would be!

If you're freezing it you need to freeze it on the day you express!

I wouldn't risk it either way - I normally try to ue EBM within 48 hours, and I don't think I would keep it past 3 days.... if freezing I freeze within 24 hours.
